Our Story

Pizza A Modo Mio wasn’t always the restaurant it is today. The story began with mike, Julie, and a truck…

Originally from Brooklyn, NY, I started working with pizza at the age of 15 while living in Long Island. Years later, I moved to Charleston, SC, where I quickly fell in love with the community and put down roots. The one thing I longed for after relocating was authentic, traditional pizza. So, I took a leap of faith and opened a food truck. The demand was so great that the rest is history.

In 2023, I joined the U.S. Pizza Team, an elite group of pizzaiolos from across the country and around the world. Competing nationally and internationally, I’ve been honored to earn 5th Best Cheese Pizza in the World at the Las Vegas Pizza Expo, 1st Place for Best Traditional Sauce in Anaheim, CA, 3rd Place for Best Pan Pizza in Los Angeles, and several other local and national awards for our dedication to great pizza.

At Pizza A Modo Mio, we offer seven distinct styles of pizza from around the country and the world—styles you might not find in your local neighborhood. We’re known for selling pizza by the slice every day, along with our fresh-baked garlic knots, rolls, and pinwheels. Our menu also features large 12-inch hot heroes, crisp salads, fresh desserts, and authentic real Italian ice—perfect for topping off your meal.

New York–style pizza isn’t just about cooking; it’s about deep-seated tradition and culture. We prepare our dough the New York way, bake it in a traditional pizza oven, and serve it up by the slice in all varieties. But our menu goes far beyond New York—we embrace and celebrate pizza in all its delicious forms.

Where we differ is in our commitment to fresh ingredients, our dedication to authentic styles, and our passion for the craft. Whether you’re enjoying a classic slice, a Roman pizza, a Detroit pan, New York style  or a Chicago tavern cut, we hope that with just one bite, you’ll be transported—whether to the streets of Brooklyn, a pizza in Rome, or somewhere entirely new.
